CFO - Venture Capital Fund Accounting Experience (Bay Area)

If you are a CFO with experience supporting and guiding Venture Capital and/or Private Equity funds, we want you! . The CFO position will afford you a high degree of flexibility, the ability to focus on CFO-level work (while your Senior Accountant handles all of the transactional accounting), an opportunity to work with exciting companies, and a support network of financial professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Administer the accounting, tax and financial functions for management entity and each individual fund

Strategic planning and decision-making related to fund strategies and growth of the overall business

Build and maintain relationships with the CFO/primary point of contact for each portfolio company

Maintain insight into portfolio company master cap tables and financial reporting

Provide GAAP financial reporting and investment schedules to partners and investors

Present timely and valid interpretation of operating results and financial performance

Prepare financial models and design internal reporting metrics necessary to monitor and manage business operations and support key leadership decision-making and strategy development

Responsible for overall fiscal operations: directing internal financial programs and procedures, and maintaining useful relationships with outside partners including legal and audit firms

Provide sound leadership to ensure legal, audit and regulatory compliance

Manage capital calls and cash requirements for each fund


Basic Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field- CPA or advance degree preferred

12+ years in a financial role with 5+ years as a finance leader in the VC/PE space

Deep understanding of fund accounting and private company valuations

Knowledge of partnership accounting and tax within private equity/venture capital

Experience overseeing and supporting periodic audits

Experience working with venture-backed technology companies

Strong understanding of equity and debt financing

Proven track record in successfully supporting growth using strong analytical skills and effective financial modeling and tracking

Experience leading financial budgeting and financial planning process

Strong organizational and project management skills

Solid understanding of financial compliance requirements and experience implementing and managing financial policies

High level of energy and ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic business environments
