About Upfront Ventures
Upfront Ventures is the largest and longest-serving venture capital fund in Los Angeles, with $2 billion under management. Upfront has been #LongLA since 1996, with 50% of its investments in Southern California and the remainder across the US and Europe. Upfront has made investments in technology-based companies including Bird, Apeel, and Happy Returns. Upfront invests generally across industries, with areas of focus including sustainability, enterprise SaaS, consumer marketplaces, and innovative media.
Alice is interested in investing at the intersection of technology and healthcare, spanning digital health to therapeutics. She works with local universities and research labs to identify early-stage research and supports existing Upfront healthcare portfolio companies Bionaut Labs and Canvas Medical.
Alice joined Upfront in 2018, with a focus on biology and deep tech. Prior to joining Upfront, Alice spent two years at the Boston Consulting Group in San Francisco, where she advised enterprise technology and biopharma clients. Alice also supported business development and operations at the Rare Genomics Institute, a nonprofit connecting families in the rare disease space. Alice received her PhD in biomedical engineering from a joint program between the Georgia Institute of Technology, Emory University, and Peking University.
