2.2%. We’ve all heard the number by now that describes how much VC funding women received in 2018 and 2017 according to Pitchbook and All Raise, an organization supporting women in venture capital and startups. That number rose to 2.8 % in 2019. Promising? Yes. Still needs improvement? Of course!

In honor of Women’s History Month, Early Growth is hosting an all women’s video panel to discuss running a business in the current startup ecosystem, fundraising, making the big asks, and building your network.

Tina Gregory

Tina Gregory is a Consulting CFO and the Systems Manager of Early Growth. She provides strategic counsel to startups, develops financial plans, forecasts and models for business funding, planning and performance analysis for clients and regularly evaluates and implements technology and process solutions to automate operations.  Her diverse background includes financial and operations management roles with both private and public companies and experience in services, manufacturing, distribution, blockchain and e-commerce businesses.  Tina has trained work teams from the factory floor to the C-suite in process control, systems automation and team dynamics. She has served as Director of Investor Relations for a NYSE listed company, has guided companies in successful exits, including IPOs, acquisitions and mergers, and has served as public relations counsel with several Fortune 1000 companies.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Operations and Production Management from the University of Illinois and an MBA in Corporate Finance from Case Western Reserve University.


Julia Jacobson

Julia Jacobson, Aster Farms

As CEO of Aster Farms, Julia brings an expertise in entrepreneurship, supply chain management and business development to the Aster Farm’s team. Her personal interest in cannabis is rooted in her battle with chronic migraines, incorporating the plant with her prescribed routine to mitigate symptoms, balance equilibrium and chart a healthy course. Julia develops Aster’s high-level vision, ensuring the team is two steps ahead as the company scales.

Julia is a thought leader in the cannabis space and has spoken on panels including SXSW, SheCANN, Females to the Front and Weed Week. Today, she continues to be a mentor to young entrepreneurs in many fields. She has been featured in The Economist, Forbes, Dope Magazine, High Times and Civilized Magazine.


Ashley M. Williams

Ashley M. Williams is the leading Millennial marketing strategist, spokesperson, consultant, and global speaker for brands that want to reach the next generation — helping brands to create the right content, craft the right messages, and produce events that bring them, Millennials, and Gen Z together. Ashley is the founder and CEO of RIZZARR, a tech-enabled content marketplace.
