Ahuja to Touch on Fundraising, Investment Thesis, Current Investment Climate and Trends
Palo Alto, CA – January 10, 2021 – Early Growth, leading Essential Business Services (EBS) provider, announced today the speaker for its Meet the VC panel event to be held at 12 p.m. PT on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Featured guest speaker will be Ankur Ahuja, Chief Operating Officer of Varana Capital LLC, a Denver-based asset management platform, offering clients access to venture capital, private equity, and public markets.
Meet the VC is a monthly panel event hosted by Early Growth and its partners. Every month, a prominent venture capitalist discusses their firm’s investment thesis, trends they’re seeing in the current investment climate, and more. It is an interview format hosted by EarlyGrowth followed by a Q&A session with attendees at the end of the interview.
Ahuja brings to Varana Capital, LLC (VCLLC) over 10 years of operational and investment experience. Prior to joining Varana Capital in 2021, Ahuja held the position of Founder and CEO at NexGen Logistics, a logistics company he founded in 2018, selling just prior to his move to Colorado. From 2009 – 2017, he was CEO of Cadence Distributors, a consumer products business he founded with Managing Partner at Varana Phillip Broenniman and subsequently sold to a competitor/license holder whose sales exceeded $100 million. From 2005 – 2009, Ahuja worked as an intern and then business analyst at Cadence Investment Partners, a New York City-based event-driven hedge fund where he worked alongside Broenniman. Ahuja earned a BA in Economics and Finance from New York University in 2009.
Varana is an alternative asset management firm launched in 2013 to bring more than just capital to the table. Varana brings experience, expertise, and networks to help solve the problems challenging partner companies every day. The firm’s areas of focus include venture capital, public equities, fixed income, and derivatives.
“Our lending professionals come from a broad background and include founders, C-level executives, high-net worth individuals and entrepreneurs,” said Ahuja. “They function as a stable base and bring their capital expertise and networks to bare for our portfolio companies. I’ll try to explain how we deliver value to our partners by leveraging this background and expertise to those who attend the Meet the VC event.”
