New CFOs Bring Significant Experience with Early Stage Companies

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 16, 2012

Early Growth Financial Services(EGFS), a company specializing in strategic accounting and financial consulting services, today announced the new hire of Joan Varrone and Steven Olson as Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) for the company, effective immediately. Both Varrone and Olsen will focus on providing high level financial strategy to small and early stage companies, as well as consult on areas of finance, accounting and administration.

Joan Varrone joins EGFS with over 25 years of experience in finance, including taking a company through IPO and raising funding in excess of $100 million. She began her career with Raychem where she managed corporate planning, international tax and treasury functions. She went on to serve as the corporate treasurer for Watkins-Johnson, and then as the CFO for Catapult Communications where she oversaw the company’s successful IPO. She continued to serve in a CFO role for several successful start up companies in the Bay area in e-commerce, enterprise software and nanotechnology. Most recently she has worked as a consulting/interim CFO to companies in the digital media, enterprise software and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industries.

Steven Olson has over 25 years of experience of executive level management in software and technology focused organizations. Prior to joining EGFS, he served as managing principal for New Venture Support Inc., where he provided consultation services and support for early stage companies. Before that, he was the vice president of finance for Dexterra, Inc., where he raised $106 million in venture funding for the enterprise mobile software company. He has also worked in executive operational and finance roles for a variety of start up companies both in California and Washington.

“We are extremely excited to welcome both Joan and Steve, particularly given their extensive backgrounds in helping early stage companies, as well as their varied experience within their local financial communities,” said David Ehrenberg, CEO of EGFS. “Our mission at EGFS is to allow small enterprises the opportunity to focus on what they do best, and with the addition of Joan and Steve to our team of expert CFOs we are well-prepared to address the needs of early stage companies around the country.”
